Service Description
The Cedar Falls Public Library and the Hearst Center for the Arts are thrilled to announce Community Nature Quest, a new year-long program designed to foster creative engagement with our natural surroundings. Beginning in May 2025 and running through May 2026, this free, community-centered initiative invites participants to explore local nature through expert-led lectures and open art studio sessions dedicated to an ongoing nature art journal project. Program Schedule: First Tuesday of the Month | 6–8 PM – Engaging lectures at the Cedar Falls Public Library featuring artists and field experts. Third Tuesday of the Month | 6–8 PM – Open studio time at the Hearst Center for the Arts, where participants can use provided art supplies to work on their nature journals. Participants are welcome to drop in for a month or follow the series throughout the year. Made possible by the Cedar Falls Community Foundation: Kathryn Ray Fund for use by the Library, this new program offers a unique opportunity to meet with a cohort of curious individuals to develop a deeper connection with nature through personal reflection and creative expression—whether working solo or alongside others. For updates on lecture topics and speakers, visit the Cedar Falls Public Library and Hearst Center for the Arts websites, or follow them on social media. Join us for a year of exploration, creativity, and connection with nature!
