Holiday Ornament Workshop
Sunday, December 2 from 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Hand-make unique ceramic ornaments—for yourself or as a gift—in this special family-friendly holiday workshop. Participants will be able to pick up their work after firing beginning December 11.
Fee: $10 per adult, $5 kids
(kids under 5 free)

National Day of Service @ The Hearst
Monday, January 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Use your creativity on this day of service and join us in partnering with the Black Hawk County Veteran’s Affairs to create hats and scarves for local veterans in need. This event is free and all materials are provided. Invest some time and creativity while helping our neighbors in need.

Fantastical Clay Creatures
Saturdays, January 12–February 2 from 1:00–3:30 p.m.
Use your imagination to design and hand-build your own fantasy creature. This four week class offers instruction in the basics of hand-building and opportunities to develop sculpting techniques.
Ages: 12–16
Fee: $42 ($37) + $7 Clay Fee

Art Day Away
February 22 & March 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
(before and after care available)
Explore a variety of materials and interesting art activities in these fun, single-day camps held on public schools’ professional development days. Painting, drawing, printing and more are explored throughout this day-long event. Student art is ready to take home at the end of the day. Snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon; campers must bring their own lunch. Before & after care available from 8:30–9:00 a.m. and 4:00–5:00 p.m.
Ages: K–6
Fee: $35 ($31.50)/session
Before and After Care:Additional $10/day

Spring Break Camp
March 18–22
Students explore a sampling of art materials and techniques while creating fun and exciting projects to take home. Snacks provided in the morning and afternoon. Students must bring a sack lunch. Before & after care available from 8:30–9:00 a.m. and 4:00–5:00 p.m.
Ages: K–6
Time: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Fee: $35 ($31.50)/day,
$160 ($144)/week
Before and After Care:Additional $10/day

Girls Scouts / Boy Scouts Workshop
Hearst Center instructors are often available to assist Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts in meeting art badge requirements with themed workshops. Although badges are not sold or distributed by the Hearst Center, troops can meet the requirements for their badges during a fun and creative afternoon for just $8 per Scout. The minimum requirement of Scouts per workshop is 8 and the maximum is 25 Scouts. Troops may combine to reach the minimum requirement. Animal Safari Outer Space

Parties are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Themes and art activities are designed for children ages 3 - 12. Cost is $140 for up to 15 participating guests; additional guests may be added at $8 each up to 25. At least one supervising adult for every 8 party guests is required. To set up a private birthday party package and/or for more information contact the Hearst Center at 319.273.8641.

Face Painting and Outreach Activities Hearst Center instructors are available to do face painting
and art activities for community and corporate events. Call for more information. Prices vary and
are dependent on types of activities and number of participants.

Field Trips and Tours
The Hearst Center welcomes educational field trips and tours! Trips and tours can be customized
to include art activities, time in the galleries, and time in the sculpture garden (weather permitting).
