EMPTY BOWLS Work Days at the Hearst Center
Work Days: February 18, March 4 and March 18, 1-4 p.m.
Create a bowl for the North East Iowa Food Bank's Empty Bowls benefit. Come to the Hearst Center anytime during the scheduled walk-in work days to give back and make a bowl to be donated to the North East Iowa Food Bank. Hearst Center instructors adn volunteers will be on-site to help participants of all ages creat their bowls.These work days are free and open to the public.

Art Days Away: Feb. 23 & Mar. 9 (ages K–6)
Get your hands dirty and make art in these single-day camps held on public schools’ professional
development days. Painting, drawing, printing, ceramics, and more are explored throughout this
day-long event. Student art is ready to take home at the end of the day. Snacks are provided in the
morning and afternoon; campers must bring
their own lunch.
Time: 9 am–4 pm
Location: Rownd Classrooms
Fee: $35 ($31.50)/day

Spring Break Camps, Mar. 12–16 (ages K–6)
Our day camps are the perfect place to try new mediums and make projects to take home! Snacks
provided in the morning and afternoon. Students must bring a sack lunch.
Time: 9 am–4 pm
Location: (ages 5–8) Rownd Classrooms
(ages 9–12) McElroy Classroom
Fee: $30 ($27)/day, $140 ($125)/week

Family Fun for the Garden
Sunday March 25
Make your garden more inviting with a handmade sculpture! Explore different hand-building techniques as a family while making something unique for your home garden! From bird baths to mythical creatures, you will be sure to create something your whole family will love!
Time: 1:30-3:30pm
Location: Adams Ceramic Lab
Fee: $10 ($8) per person

SPRING BREAK Screen Printing for Teens
Wednesday, March 14
Ever wondered how an image was transferred onto a shirt or bag? Join this fun opportunity to learn how to screen print a design onto a shirt. Students will help with the design and transfer of the image. Students should bring a solid color shirt & lunch to class.

Time: 9am-2pm

Girls Scouts / Boy Scouts Workshop
Hearst Center instructors are often available to assist Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts in meeting art badge requirements with themed workshops. Although badges are not sold or distributed by the Hearst Center, troops can meet the requirements for their badges during a fun and creative afternoon for just $8 per Scout. The minimum requirement of Scouts per workshop is 8 and the maximum is 25 Scouts. Troops may combine to reach the minimum requirement. Animal Safari Outer Space

Parties are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Themes and art activities are designed for children ages 3 - 12. Cost is $140 for up to 15 participating guests; additional guests may be added at $8 each up to 25. At least one supervising adult for every 8 party guests is required. To set up a private birthday party package and/or for more information contact the Hearst Center at 319.273.8641.

Face Painting and Outreach Activities Hearst Center instructors are available to do face painting
and art activities for community and corporate events. Call for more information. Prices vary and
are dependent on types of activities and number of participants.

Field Trips and Tours
The Hearst Center welcomes educational field trips and tours! Trips and tours can be customized
to include art activities, time in the galleries, and time in the sculpture garden (weather permitting).
