NEW! Yoga & Messy Mornings
Every Wednesday, April 4 - May 9, 10:15-11 a.m.
Enjoy a peaceful yoga class in the gallery or outdoors while your child participates in a fun and educational art class!
Join us to improve flexibility, core strength and muscle endurance in a calm and relaxing environment. Yoga will take place in the main art gallery at the Hearst Center and occassionally outdoors (weather permitting). Bring your own yoga mat.
$30/session or $15/session for current REC Center Members. Pre-registration required at the Rec Center.

Wednesdays through May 16 from 10-11 a.m.
Bring your children ages 3-6 for Messy Mornings - they will explore a wide variety of materials through creative and delightfully messy art projects.
$5/session, registration at the Hearst Center.

Plein-Air Pastels
*If inclement weather, sessions will be held in McElroy classroom
Enjoy the view of our sculpture garden thats nestled to the nature trail, while drawing with pastels. Experiment with landscape compositions and the natural light of the outdoors!
Dates: Sundays, June 2-3 & 9-10
Time: 1-4 pm

Nature Oil Painting
This class offers exploration of techniques, styles, composition and subject of Plein Aire, landscape & wildlife painting. Try your hand at all styles, or stick to one. Take advantage of our beautiful garden and nature views from our back yard!

Time: 1-4 pm

Group Guitar
Learn from a local musician the essentials to play the guitar! Families & singles of all levels are welcome to join this class! Theory, technique and rhythm are explored with every class, along with a different theme every week. Students will be provided with a chord book. Students must bring their own guitar.
Dates: July 7, 14, 21, 28
Time: 1:30-3:30pm

Fee: $45 ($40)/person

Wheel Throwing
Develop your basic skills of throwing on the wheel to create personal items for daily use. Students can finish the class with cups, mugs, bowls, plates and serving dishes to take home! Demonstrations and discussions on form and functionality will take place throughout the class.
Dates: July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24 & 26
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Location: Johns Adams Ceramics Lab

Fee: $45 ($40.50) + $25 lab fee

Hand Building
Learn skills and techniques to create abstract and/or anatomical ceramic forms from slab or coil techniques. This class focuses on the processes used to create a variety of pieces and is best suited for beginners and intermediate students, although all levels are welcome.
Dates: June 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 & 28
Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Exploring Water Color
This colorful class is ideal for the beginner or intermediate student who wishes to gain a strong understanding of the watercolor painting process. Students can expect to learn about suitable painting materials, basic watercolor painting techniques, the fascinating relationships between colors, and more.

3-Month Independent Study Ceramics Studio Passes
Single $65.00 ($58.50)
Double $100.00 ($90.00 )
Family $150.00 ($135.00)
Independent study includes access to clay studio, firing, and use of glazes. Clay must be purchased (in addition to the pass) from the Hearst Center at $25/25lbs. Open studio time is available when the studio is not being used for scheduled classes.
